WestPac LNG Corporation
Welcome to WestPac LNG Corporation. Our vision is to provide coastal and lower mainland British Columbia residents with clean, reliable energy for today and for the future.
As part of this goal, we're planning a co-located liquefied natural gas (LNG) receipt and trans-shipment terminal and natural gas-fired power generation facility on Texada Island, located approximately 120 km northwest of Vancouver in the Strait of Georgia, in British Columbia, Canada.
At WestPac LNG, we're committed to high standards of ethical, legal and environmental business practices. We invite you to review these commitments in our Statement of Corporate Responsibility.
In addition, we are determined to be a good neighbour throughout the regulatory and environmental process, during construction and start-up, and throughout the operation of the terminal and power generation facility. We believe a good neighbour listens to what people have to say and respects their opinions. To help us, we've developed a program to engage stakeholders now, and as work proceeds. We want to tell you about our company and our vision to provide coastal residents with clean, reliable energy, now and for the future. This website will tell you more about WestPac LNG and keep you informed of our plans for this project. Here you can sign-up for our E-newsletter, and read about new developments or what the media is saying about us in our Newsroom. You will soon be able to review a project description, once this is available.
We've also provided a feedback form for you to give us comments or ask questions about us and our project. We look forward to hearing from you or meeting you soon.
You may be aware of our previous announcements about a plan to build an LNG storage and trans-shipment terminal on Ridley Island, near Prince Rupert, BC. After very careful assessment, WestPac's central development focus has shifted to Texada Island, with Ridley Island playing a future role depending on economics, market supply and demand. The Texada Island project best enables WestPac LNG to service the gas needs of the BC coastal and lower mainland populations and better utilize existing gas pipelines and electricity transmission infrastructure.
